Theresa wins the prestigious award

The official prizes for best artistic achievements in performances in the previous two seasons were awarded in the Croatian National Theatre in Split. The winners are:  the opera champion Theresa Kusanovic, the conductor maestro Ivo Lipanovic, the actor Goran Markovic, the ballerina Eva Karpilovski and the ballet “5-12″.

The expert committee gave the opera champion Theresa Kusanović the “Ante Marusic” award for best performance in the Opera Theater Split for the seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. The “Ante Marusic” award is named after the famous baritone of the Croatian National Theatre in Split.

Over the last two years, Theresa first sung in a very successful premiere of Boito’s “Mefistofele” as Marta and Pantalis. Afterward came her remarkable achievements because of which she was proposed, and for which she ultimately won the prestigious “Ante Marusic” prize.
These achievements include two most important roles in the mezzo-soprano opera, Bizet’s “Carmen” and Saint-Saens heroine Dalila in his famous opera “Samson and Delilah”, as well as meticulous and confident role of Suzuki in Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly”.
Theresa used her gorgeous, dark and voluminous mezzo-soprano and extremely impressive stage appearance to present to the Split audience a primal and fiery Carmen that might have been imagined by Bizet himself. On the other hand, the elegance and the sensuality of the cantilene and the malevolence of the stage performance of her Delilah show an artistically mature singer who thoroughly dives into the musical fabric of her stage roles, the fact that was recognized by the audience and by the professional critics.
